Greeting:

We gather here today to witness and celebrate an act of deep love.   _________________and _______________________. In their devotion, respect, and love for each other wish to unite in the bond of marriage, and to dedicate themselves to each other’s happiness and well being as soul mates and partners.  On behalf of them,  I welcome you all.

Couples Address:
 
______________________and _______________________, you are here to publicly declare your devotion to each other.  The essence of this commitment is the acceptance of each other in entirety, as lover, companion, and friend.  A good and balanced relationship is one in which neither person is overpowered nor absorbed by the other, one in which neither person is possessive of the other, one in which both give their love freely and without jealousy.

Marriage, ideally, is a sharing of responsibilities, hopes and dreams. It takes a special effort to grow together, survive hard times, and be loving and unselfish.


Hand ceremony:

These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase through time, they will reflect not only who you are but also the glorious union that you are now creating.

Pronouncement:
